FashionABLE // Now Available at Society B // Fair Wage Products that Empower Women

Women rock. And economic research proves it. When women are given opportunities, they invest more of their earnings in their families and communities than men do. ABLE (formerly FashionABLE) knows this, and they believe that the best way to reduce extreme poverty is to create job opportunities for women.

Today, ABLE works to employ women who have overcome extreme hardships. The scarves and leather goods from this collection are made by women in Ethiopia—many of whom struggled to find jobs after leaving the commercial sex industry. The jewelry from ABLE’s Miriam Designs collection is made by women in Nashville who have overcome addiction and homelessness. Each good is named for a woman who made it.
